The benefits of being in business for one's self are numerous. Among the most notable are the ability to earn
exponentially more income than one could working for another company, the sense of pride that comes with creating
income for one's self in the marketplace and the unlimited knowledge and creativity that comes from building and
growing a business.
Most entrepreneurs however do not realize the huge investment of time, energy and money if often takes to be
successful in business. A good number of entrepreneurs do not generally know how to go about starting a successful business.
In the African American community, there are many who do not realize the many benefits that black businesses bring about - among
these benefits being the jobs that are that are created to employ our youth and bring wealth and prosperity into the community.
That is where the Business Empowerment Network (BEN) comes in. We are a subdomain of the Interdenominational
Ministerial Alliance Community Action Team in Tucson,
Arizona. Through the support of our networking group, workshops sessions and educational meetings, we are in the business
of bringing about a brighter future for the African American community with the end goal of increasing the number locally
owned and operated African American businesses.
